UofT Women & the Law
Women & the Law is made up of law students who identify as women that are passionate about gender-based issues and building community within the
legal profession.
Our mission is to address the three ways in which women and the law intersect: women at the law school;
women in the legal profession;
and women affected by the law.
Our events and initiatives aim to serve our mission by providing: networking opportunities with various legal professionals and fellow students; education about career opportunities and the unique experience of being a woman in the legal industry; and awareness about gender-specific issues that women face when interacting with the legal system.
Previous events include: Annual Professional Networking & Mentorship Evening; Women & Business Law Panel; Cupcake Social; Film Screenings; Female Litigators Panel; Clothing Swap; Depiction of Female Lawyers in the Media; and Fireside Chat with Criminal Defence Attorney Sayeh Hassan.
